Help
How MyBand works, step by step. The same help is in the app, under Settings, HELP.
Getting started The quickest way from nothing to playing live.
- Add a few songs: Songs, then ADD SONG, then ADD MANUALLY. Paste in the words and chords.
- Make a setlist: Set Lists, type a name in New setlist name, pick your songs and tap CREATE.
- Tap + PERFORMANCE on that setlist so it's ready for the stage.
- On Home, tap PERFORMANCE, choose the setlist and tap START PERFORMANCE.
- Playing with others? Sign in and make a band so everyone shares the same songs (see Your band).
Add a song Type or paste words and chords into your song list.
- Go to Songs and tap ADD SONG, then ADD MANUALLY.
- Paste or type the words and chords into the big box. Chords can sit on their own line above the words.
- Tap CLEAN / FORMAT PASTED LYRICS & CHORDS. MyBand tidies the layout, lines the chords up with the words, and fills in the title, key and BPM if it can find them.
- Check the Song title, Artist, Key, Capo and BPM boxes, then tap SAVE SONG.
- To change a song later, tap EDIT next to it in Songs. Songs are kept on your phone, so they work with no signal.
Import song files Bring in songs you already have in Word or text files.
- Go to Songs and tap IMPORT SONG FILES.
- Choose one or more files: Word (.docx), plain text (.txt) or ChordPro (.cho, .chordpro, .chopro, .crd, .pro). PDF and old Word (.doc) files can't be read; save them as .docx first.
- A Word file with page breaks between songs becomes several songs.
- Check the list MyBand shows you, then tap IMPORT.
Song Catcher Hear a song playing? Find out what it is and add it.
- On Home, tap Song Catcher. You need to be signed in, and MyBand will ask to use the microphone.
- Tap CATCH THIS SONG while the music plays. MyBand listens for up to 10 seconds (or tap IDENTIFY NOW).
- When it says SONG CAUGHT!, tap ADD TO MYBAND to add the title and artist to your songs.
- Song Catcher finds the title and artist only. Add the words and chords yourself with EDIT.
Make a setlist Put songs in order for a gig or rehearsal.
- Go to Set Lists, type a name in New setlist name, tick the songs under PICK SONGS and tap CREATE.
- Open the setlist to change it. Drag the ═ handle to move a song up or down.
- Tap + to add more songs. Tap × to take a song off the setlist; it stays in your song list.
- Have the set written on paper? Tap SCAN PHOTO and MyBand matches the names to your songs.
- Have it in a file? Tap IMPORT SETLIST FILE (.docx or .txt). If the file has SET 2, Break or Encore lines, MyBand can make a separate setlist for each set.
Perform live Words and chords on stage, even with no signal.
- In Set Lists, tap + PERFORMANCE on each setlist you want on stage.
- On Home, tap PERFORMANCE, then CHOOSE A SETLIST.
- Check it says OFFLINE READY. If it says CHECK SONGS, some songs are missing words or chords.
- Tap START PERFORMANCE. Use ‹ PREV and NEXT › to move between songs. The screen stays on.
- To finish, go back and choose END.
On stage controls Scrolling, text size, key and chords while you play.
- Tap ▶ to start the words scrolling and Ⅱ to pause. − and + change the speed. Each song starts paused.
- Swipe the words with your finger to move them. MyBand also learns the speed from how fast you swipe, and remembers it for that song.
- A− and A+ change the text size.
- KEY − and KEY + change the key; ORIGINAL puts it back. The song itself is not changed.
- CHORDS ON / CHORDS OFF shows or hides the chords. If the song has a BPM, the metronome button flashes the beat.
- Tap CONTROLS to hide the buttons and give the words more room.
Rehearsal recorder Record a practice or a gig on your phone.
- On Home, tap Recordings, then the round record button.
- It keeps recording if you leave MyBand. A MyBand is recording notice shows at the top of the phone; tap STOP & SAVE there to finish.
- Or come back to MyBand and tap the button again to stop.
- Each recording has PLAY, RENAME, SHARE and DELETE.
- Recordings stay on this phone. They are not synced or put in backups, so SHARE the ones you want to keep.
Gigs and rehearsals Plan events in the Organiser.
- On Home, tap Organiser, then + CREATE EVENT.
- Choose GIG, REHEARSAL, TRAVEL or OTHER, give it a name and CHOOSE DATE.
- Add arrival, soundcheck, start and finish times. Use REPEAT for a weekly or monthly rehearsal.
- ATTACH SETLIST links the set for that gig.
- Tap SAVE EVENT. CALENDAR and UPCOMING show what's coming; DIRECTIONS opens the map.
- Venue contacts, fees and money are private to the band Owner. Members never see them.

- Turn reminders off or on in Settings, under EVENT REMINDERS.
Band notices Tell the whole band something at once.

Sync conflicts When the same thing was changed in two places.
- If a song was changed on your phone and somewhere else, MyBand keeps both and asks you.
- Tap Review conflicts, then choose Use device or Use cloud for each one.
- Nothing is thrown away until you choose.
Published shows A fixed copy of the gig for every phone, with no signal needed.
- The Owner or a Band Leader publishes the show on the MyBand website.
- On your phone, open the gig in the Organiser and choose PUBLISHED SHOW.
- Tap DOWNLOAD LATEST PUBLISHED VERSION while you have signal.
- At the gig, tap START OFFLINE SHOW. The songs won't change mid-show, even if someone edits them.
Back up and restore Keep a copy of everything, or move to a new phone.
- Go to Settings, BACKUP & RESTORE, then CREATE BACKUP FILE.
- Choose where to save it, such as Google Drive or your email, so it's safe if you lose the phone.
- The backup has your bands, songs, setlists, events and settings. Recordings are not in it.
- To restore, tap RESTORE FROM BACKUP, choose the file, check what it shows and tap RESTORE. It replaces what's on this phone.
- MyBand reminds you to back up every two weeks.
Plans and payment Free trial, MyBand Solo and Band Pro.
- Everyone gets a 14-day free trial with everything on.
- Playing on your own? MyBand Solo is monthly, yearly, or pay once for life.
- In a band? The band Owner buys Band Pro for the band, sized for up to 3, up to 7, or 8 or more people. Everyone else in that band uses MyBand free, for their own songs too.
- See your plan in Settings, MYBAND PLAN. The Owner buys Band Pro in MEMBERS & ACCESS.
- If a plan ends, nothing is deleted. You can still open your songs, perform and back up; adding and editing wait until you renew.
- To cancel on Android, open Google Play, tap your picture, then Payments & subscriptions. On iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions.
Settings Make MyBand easy to see.
- APPEARANCE: choose Day or Night.

- Publish a show for the band to download for offline playing.
- Tap SYNC NOW on your phone to bring the changes across.
Delete your account Remove your MyBand account and its data.

- Go to Settings, MY BANDS & ACCOUNT, then DELETE MY ACCOUNT, or use Delete account on the website.
- Type your email and tap DELETE PERMANENTLY. Bands you own are deleted for everyone in them.
- Songs and recordings saved on this phone stay there until you uninstall MyBand.
